JCLI’s approach to projects is first and foremost to use the Project Execution Plan (PEP) to identify the objectives and requirements of the project. Then a risk mitigation strategy is carried out along with a detailed tasking program for the duration of the project.
For all Projects, the critical requirement is to ascertain the end user requirements and time constraints. By fulfilling these requirements, the finished works are completed on time and to the expectations of the Client. In addition to this, the socialization of the solution of the required need is necessary to ensure that all the requirements have been fully recognized and adopted and/or reflected in the design and works to be carried out.
Once this has been agreed and signed off by the Client, the formulation of a full procurement strategy and contract strategy is then carried out. Due to the likely varying nature of project requirements, there are numerous procurement routes that can be taken. Each route contains an element of risk over the process. The strategy will determine and present in a clear and concise manner, the choices faced by the Client giving them the flexibility to choose what level of risk and control they wish to adopt and what should be done by the Contractor.
JCLI, as Project Managers will also ensure that our management decisions are based on a full understanding of Client’s operational and purchasing policies that currently exist. Endemic to this is the method of contract award, monitoring and payment. In respect to this, a formal reporting system will be agreed and adopted that incorporates costs and program control.
Once the works are tendered and a site start has commenced, constant monitoring by JCLI is essential to ensure all the works are executed to the quality and schedule agreed. The designer, under JCLI guidance, will be responsible for the implementation of the design intent. JCLI firmly believe that “hands-on” site supervision by the Project Manager on an intensive basis is the key to project delivery.
